Talking Points
a) Please stop the advertisements on Times Square by Hindu extremist groups in the U.S. that are trying to whitewash the criminal destruction of the historic Babri Mosque in India. The advertisements in Times Square that celebrate the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya are effectively a celebration of the destruction of the Babri Mosque in India on whose ruins the temple is going to be built.
b) Free speech cannot be allowed as an excuse to celebrate bigotry and advance hate. This is not a celebration of faith, rather a celebration of crime, religious bigotry, hatred, and intolerance that has brought death, destruction, and untold misery to minorities all over India.
c) As an American who cherishes the values of religious freedom, democracy, respect for human rights and rule of law, I am shocked and traumatized that your company is allowing such a naked display of religious intolerance and hatred in the heart of New York City.
d) The billboards are an affront to our cherished values of religious freedom and respect for human rights, as they will showcase the “success” of this violent campaign and that has been responsible for untold human suffering.
